Dunn was charged with second-degree murder for shooting and killing a man Dunn said broke into his Army Surplus store in October 2018.
Just days before jury selection was set to begin, Dunn pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of manslaughter with a firearm.
Dunn’s lawyer initially claimed self-defense.
But, according to investigators, the suspect, Cristobal Lopez, 51, did not make any verbal threats, nor did he appear to make any threatening movements toward Dunn.
Surveillance video showing the shooting was released to the public after the shooting with the permission of the Polk County State Attorney's office.
The video shows Dunn shooting and killing Lopez, who appeared to be trying to leave the store after stealing an item.
According to the arrest affidavit, Dunn was still pointing his weapon at Lopez when officers arrived and that Dunn admitted to detectives he shot Lopez twice because he was stealing the hatchet from his business.
