ORLANDO, Fla. — A young dolphin that got entangled in the remants of a crab trap at Pier 60 in Clearwater on Wednesday is under round-the clock care at SeaWorld, a spokesman for the company said.

The dolphins is in very critical condition.

Lifeguards in Clearwater initially freed the dolphin and released it back out into the water as onlookers watched.

However, the little dolphin swam back toward shore and wasn't reunited with its mother.

Crews put the dolphin in a truck and took it to an aquarium. It later was transported to SeaWorld for care.

Clearwater Marine Aquarium said the dolphin would be assessed and perhaps go through rehab.
