TAMPA, Fla. — Hurricane Hunters took to the sky to get an in-depth look at Hurricane Ian.
The 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron from Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS caught a glimpse of the storm on Tuesday as it makes its way to Florida.
The squadron collects data in weather events which helps forecasters better track a storm's path and intensity.

The team advised for locals to heed any advisories from officials as the storm gets closer to shore.
