CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. — Citrus County deputies shot and killed a domestic violence suspect at a home on Suncoast Blvd Thursday morning in Homosassa.
Deputies said the suspect fired a gun at them and then left the scene.
No deputies were injured.
A K9 Unit responded and tracked the suspect hiding under a trailer at a closed business.
Authorities said when deputies located and confronted the armed suspect, the suspect refused their lawful commands to surrender and pointed his firearm at deputies. Fearing for their safety and the safety of others, deputies on scene shot the suspect.
No futher information has been released.
Per the agency’s protocol, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) has initiated an investigation into this officer involved shooting.
