TAMPA, Fla. – The University of South Florida’s first season schedule under new coach Alex Golesh will feature a mix of something new and something old.
And something big. Really big. As in a Sept. 16 home game against perennial title contender Alabama.
USF’s official 2023 schedule was announced by the American Athletic Conference on Tuesday.
The Bulls will open the season Sept. 2 at Western Kentucky before coming home to face Florida A&M on Sept. 9.
After the home game against the Crimson Tide, USF begins its AAC conference schedule against new league foe Rice.
More new AAC opponents follow in October with a trip to Alabama-Birmingham (Oct. 7), now coached by former Buccaneers quarterback Trent Dilfer, and at home against Florida Atlantic, set to be USF’s new yearly conference opponent now that UCF has moved to the Big 12.
Regular league opponents Memphis and Temple also dot the schedule.
USF plays its lone weeknight game on Friday, Nov. 17 at Texas San Antonio before wrapping up the regular season Nov. 25 at home against new AAC member Charlotte.
