Christopher Reynolds, 44, is accused of sending monetary demand packages to insurance companies, forging clients' names on settlement documents and pocketing the settlement money, leaving his clients with no compensation for their injuries and medical bills.

According to Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri, Reynolds has stolen $840,000 from 16 people who had retained him as their lawyer in personal injury cases.

During a press conference on Monday, Gualtieri said that Reynolds had used the money to pay for drugs, prostitutes and $40,000 in OnlyFans subscriptions.

One of Reynolds' clients, who wished to remain anonymous and is referred to as "Charlotte," got into a car accident in April 2018.

Charlotte needed medical attention and required the other driver's insurance to pay for damages. Her father recommended Reynolds, who specialized in settling car crash cases.

Charlotte said that she went through treatment as Reynolds had advised her. However, as time passed, she began having trouble getting a hold of Reynolds and getting details on her case.

"I probably left upwards of 30 messages," Charlotte said. "I called at least 30 times and it went to the answering service."

During the investigation, 16 people came forward, claiming that Reynolds had stolen their settlement money.

Charlotte was one of those clients. Reynolds had settled her case for $60,000, but she said the most she got was $1,500 and a bunch of unpaid medical bills totaling $30,000.

Reynolds was arrested on Feb. 27, and now faces charges involving money laundering and grand theft.

Charlotte counts herself lucky, saying that the situation could have been a lot worse. "It sucks what he did to people," she said.
