BRADENTON, Fla. — A new global golf event is set to take over Manatee County.

Officials on Monday announced the debut of the PGA World Cup, which is an international golf competition that will take place at The Concession Golf Club in Bradenton.

The PGA World Cup will take place in December 2023.

Former State Sen. President Bill Galvano joined PGA officials at the press conference. He discussed the economic influence the tournament will have, adding that the new event will also put Manatee County on the world stage.

“On behalf of our community, I’m going to go ahead and say welcome to the players, welcome to the caddies, welcome to the volunteers, and certainly, welcome to the fans. Come December, our home is going to be your home. And we’re really looking forward to that.”
