TAMPA, Fla. — Drivers on southbound Interstate 275 will have to detour off the roadway early Friday due to construction work.
Crews will close I-275 between Sligh Avenue and Hillsborough Avenue from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. Friday.
This temporary closure is necessary for crews to perform overhead sign structure work as part of the I-275 Capacity Improvements project.
During this detour, southbound motorists will exit I-275 using (Exit 48), continue west on Sligh Avenue, south onto Florida Avenue, east onto Hillsborough Avenue, and proceed towards the southbound I-275 entrance ramp.
Advanced warning signs and electronic message boards will assist motorists traveling through the area.
Drivers should expect delays and congestion during this detour.
