ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Wander Franco is technically back on the Tampa Bay Rays 40-man roster, but it's more of a paperwork, procedural deal.

Our newsgathering partners at the Tampa Bay Times report that the team reinstated Franco, who has been on administrative leave since Aug. 22.

It was days earlier that an investigation began into Franco and possible relationships with underaged girls.

Administrative leave is only in effect during the season, which ended last night with the Texas Rangers beating the Arizona Diamondbacks to win the World Series.

The investigation is still happening, and Franco's status for next year is still unclear.
