TAMPA, Fla. — "Iron sharpens iron," is a proverb Takara Fuller lives by — the Tampa fitness coach has been training, pushing and inspiring her clients to get healthy for years.
While leading these sweat-pouring workouts, she said an idea filled her head: She wanted to open her own gym.
“All along, she has said she has wanted to bring her workouts out to the public,” said Debra Schwartz, one of Fuller’s clients. “It was a long ride for her to finally find the right bus.”
She said bus, not venue.
“This is Faith,” said Fuller, standing next to the black and yellow shuttle bus. “She is my girl. She is my gym bus, and she is really here through blood, sweat and tears.”

Faith is a shuttle bus that once traveled Texas roads.
“When I came up with the idea, I thought about food trucks and the way that they operate, and said, ‘Why can’t we have a fitness center like that?' That operates the exact same way, where people can kind of go on Instagram, go on Facebook and say, ‘Where are they going to be this week?’” said Fuller.
She goes to many locations around Tampa.
“Never worked out on a bus before this,” said Steve Schwartz, another client.
Fuller’s clients admit when she first shared her idea to transform a bus into a gym, they were not sure what she meant.
“My first thought was like, ‘All right,’” said client Lindsey Myer. “I have known Takara for like, 10-15 years. So I am like, she has got a vision. I am not seeing it yet, but I am going to wait for it.”
She said the end result was worth the wait — one that comes with ropes, bars and bags.
“The way it is set up it is wonderful — with the stations, you fully get a workout,” said Debra Schwartz.
Faith is parked and never moving while people are working out, Fuller said.

“It has everything a gym has, and it comes to you,” said Steve Schwartz.
“It is just super fun. The community, the feel — everything is phenomenal about it,” said Myer.
For Fuller, the bus is a dream realized.
“If most of you had not been in my life, this would not have happened,” she said to her clients just before a workout.
Fuller takes Faith to different locations for workouts during the week. It can be rented for events and gatherings as well.
