POLK COUNTY, Fla. — Multiple cars on a freight train derailed early Tuesday near a Mosaic plant in Fort Meade.
There were no injuries and the derailment was not a hazmat spill situation.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened just before 2 a.m. near Mt. Pisgah Road.
At least 10 cars came off the tracks.
Officials said there were no impacts on traffic.
The crash is under investigation.
