POLK COUNTY, Fla. — Voters in both Lakeland and Winter Haven are heading to the polls Tuesday to take part in a runoff election.

Residents in both cities will decide on the final city commissioner seat after neither candidate secured 50 percent of the vote last month.

In Lakeland, voters will pick between Guy LaLonde Jr and Samuel Simmons for city commissioner District A Northwest.

Simmons is the incumbent commissioner for that district.

And over in Winter Haven, voters will decide between pastors Johnathon Bush and Clifton Dollison for the commission seat #5 position.

Dollison received 39 percent of the vote in November while Bush only received 32 percent.

Polls for both elections are now open until 7 p.m.
