PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – A 10-year-old who took a family member’s car crashed the vehicle on Interstate 275 Thursday in St. Petersburg, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash happened just after 6 p.m. along the I-275 north ramp heading onto eastbound I-375.
Authorities said the 10-year-old, driving a Nissan Altima, crossed into the lane of another driver and sideswiped the other vehicle, a pickup truck.
The impact caused the child’s car to hit the bridge guard rail.
Authorities said there were no injuries reported.
