TAMPA, Fla. — Pirating marauders descended upon City Hall Tuesday afternoon, but Mayor Jane Castor stood firm.
Ye Mystic Krewe of Gasparilla caught up with Castor in her office and led her outside for a public display.
They demanded the key to the city, but Castor vowed to never surrender.
“Absolutely not,” Castor told the assembled pirates. “We will never negotiate with this incredible city with you gnarly, no-good (bunch).”
Being the pirates they are, the buccaneers promised to return on Saturday in full force, leading an invasion in the Bay at 11:30 a.m.
Once on land, the pirates will march down Bayshore Boulevard, starting at 2 p.m., to show off and share their pirated goods with the masses.
