Editor's Note: A Clearwater Police report initially indicated the person involved in the crash was killed. A later release was issued updating that the person was in critical condition.

CLEARWATER, Fla. — The northbound lanes of U.S. 19 were fully reopened Friday afternoon after a crash that left one person in critical condition.

According to Clearwater police, the crash happened just before noon on U.S. 19 at Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard.

The northbound lanes of U.S. 19 were shut down for an extended time as officials conducted the investigation. 

Traffic was diverted on to the northbound access road at Seville Boulevard.

Another motorist involved was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
