TAMPA, Fla. — It will be a busy weekend in downtown Tampa as the Gasparilla Distance Classic takes place.

Expect roads near the Tampa Convention Center to be busy due to the race headquarters. 

Starting Saturday at 2 a.m., several roads will be shut down.

These closures will include the Selmon Expressway eastbound from downtown Exit 6-A to Florida Avenue.

There will also be closures along Ashley Drive, Florida Avenue and several other downtown streets.

All of Bayshore Boulevard will close down from Platt Street to Gandy Boulevard for the day.

You’ll find several more closures during Sunday’s races. There will also be roadblocks on Platt Street, Franklin Street and Davis Boulevard throughout the day.
