SUN CITY CENTER, Fla. — Tampa General Hospital is hosting a ribbon cutting Thursday of its new Heart and Vascular Institute in Sun City Center.
It’s part of a broader move by TGH to expand to population centers south of Tampa.
The new clinic is a joint effort between TGH’s Heart Failure Center and USF Cardiology.

The clinic will staff highly trained doctors, nurses and clinicians and include everything you’d expect when visiting a heart doctor like treadmills for stress tests, echocardiograms and other equipment to conduct heart failure studies.
Last fall, TGH announced plans for a facility to serve Charlotte and Lee counties.
It will build a 6500-square-foot facility in Babcock Ranch north of Fort Myers.
Babcock Ranch is the first solar powered town in the U.S.
