TAMPA, Fla. — Tampa Bay AirFest 2024 kicks off Friday at MacDill Airforce Base for the last time until 2027.
Construction of a new hangar at the base is expected to begin later this year and until complete, the AirFest will not be able to take place.
About 150,000 people are expected for the two-day event that will feature performances by the Thunderbirds as well as activities and displays on the ground.
Public entrances include the Dale Mabry gate and the Tanker gate located west of the main gate on MacDill Avenue.
If you don’t want to fight traffic getting on the base, two nearby parks will offer a great view of the sky, including Ballast Point Park on Interbay Boulevard and Gadsden Park on MacDill Avenue.
MacDill has created a guide for the AirFest available by searching Tampa Bay AirFest 2024 on the Apple and Google Play store.
