TAMPA, Fla. — The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a death investigation after a woman and child were found dead.

According to authorities, deputies responded to a home in the 11000 block of Bloomington Drive in Tampa after a call from a concerned friend.

Upon arrival, deputies found a dead woman and a dead toddler, according to officials.

The investigation is ongoing, but at this point, investigators believe the adult woman committed suicide, and the cause of death for the toddler will not be known until an autopsy is completed.

"My heart breaks for the family and friends whose lives are forever altered by this tragedy," said Sheriff Chad Chronister. "I plead with everyone, please don't make a permanent decision in a temporary situation. When it comes to mental health, we have so many resources to help anyone in crisis.
