TAMPA, Fla. — Tampa Police are investigating a shooting that left Charles Jones dead and three people hurt early Sunday morning. Jones is more widely known by his professional name, Foolio. 

The incident occurred at a hotel off East Fowler Avenue in the 11000 block of McKinley Drive. Officers said two vehicles were shot at in the parking lot.

The three people injured were taken to a nearby hospital and are listed in stable condition.

Jones' death was confirmed by the Fusco Law Group, who revealed that the Jacksonville resident was in Tampa for a birthday celebration. He was initially staying at an Airbnb in the area, but was asked to leave due to exceeding occupancy limits. 

He then stayed at a local Holiday Inn, where he was "reportedly ambushed," according to the press release. 

There is no word on any potential suspects at this time.
