HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FLA – This week's A+ Teacher is making summer learning fun in Hillsborough County.

Brenna Olson has spent her entire teaching career there. For 16 years, she's helped students learn and grow. 

“I love teaching because every day is an opportunity for me to help students achieve their goals and watch them grow," said Olson.

Olson teaches math and science to third graders at Mintz Elementary School during the school year.

She spent the summer helping students across the district learn and have fun. Olson says she thinks back to what helped her in school to keep her students engaged.

“I make sure that I plan my lessons with differentiation for the students who may need a little extra time, more visuals, and just making the lessons as engaging as I can," said Olson.

She enjoys having fun with the kids and she's just a few weeks away from the start of another school year.

"I am looking forward to the same thing I do every year, working with my colleagues, getting a new group of students that I get to watch flourish, blossom and then come back to visit me for years to come," said Olson.
