TAMPA — A construction equipment operator died Wednesday morning after an accident at Tampa International Airport.
According to a news release, it happened at about 7:40 a.m. during work on a shuttle guideway project.
The worker's name hasn't been released. Police are still investigating.
“We are heartbroken about the passing of one of our construction workers. We share our deepest condolences with his loved ones," said airport CEO Joe Lopano. "Tampa International Airport is conducting a comprehensive investigation into this accident.”
Flight operations were not impacted.
