TAMPA, Fla. — The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) says residents in Hillsborough County who were affected by Hurricane Debby last month can apply for aid.

FEMA’s Individuals and Households Program (IHP) provides financial and direct services to eligible people affected by a disaster.

Hillsborough County residents who were impacted by Debby can apply for FEMA assistance if they have uninsured or under-insured necessary expenses and serious needs.

Individuals and Households Program (IHP) assistance is not a substitute, however, for insurance and cannot compensate for all losses caused by a disaster.

FEMA assistance covers temporary housing for residents unable to live in their own home, along with hazard mitigation assistance.
