PASCO COUNTY — Residents near where the mouth of the Anclote River meets the St. Joseph Sound spent Thursday afternoon and evening eyeing Helene's path and worrying about flooding.

The Anclote stretches a good 30 miles into Pasco. The tide was receding in the early afternoon, with low tide happening before 4 p.m.

“It’s very scary," Jill Ruggieri said. "Especially making sure everything is put away, everything is done, I have enough supplies. Want to make sure my family is safe.”
