ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Spectrum crews are working alongside the power companies to restore services for customers as quickly as possible.
Duke Energy linemen have been on Gandy Beach Tuesday putting poles back up to restore power.
Right on their heels are the Spectrum field crews making sure the community has connectivity.
In this case, Spectrum said their Gandy fiber line worked the entire time and they want to protect it from being damaged while power was restored.
Spectrum said since Hurricane Milton struck the Bay area last Thursday, the company has restored services to more than 80 percent of its customers.
“We’re following power,” said Chris Snyder, Spectrum’s Regional Vice President of Field Operations. “So, as they put up their services that we can quickly get our services up and running. For most customers, when power is restored, our services will be restored.”
Danny Awad, Spectrum’s Director of Field Engineering, said crews are covering as much territory and quickly as they safely can.
“Our team has been working very hard,” Awad said. “I’m very proud of them. Our prayers is to protect them and their families. So, they come home safe every day and we want to make sure we continue that process and get our customers up as soon as possible.”
And safety for employees and customers is always a top priority while completing this dangerous work.
Spectrum said it brought in extra help to help restore services and has more than 2,000 boots on the ground statewide.
Spectrum is the parent company of Spectrum Networks and Spectrum Bay News 9.
