Four iconic Texas athletes from across the state are getting in the giving spirit through a new DICK’S Sporting Goods ad campaign that has them busting out their decorating skills for a good cause.

  • In a new ad campaign, Simone Biles, Chris Paul, Dak Prescott and Quinn Ewers will deck out four DICK'S Sporting Goods stores across the state with holiday decor and will each award a $100,000 grant to local youth sports organizations of their choice

  • Each store will showcase the athletes’ connection to their city, including gold accents at the Houston location in honor of Biles’ Olympic gold medals; a 12-foot basketball-themed Christmas tree for Paul in San Antonio; a gingerbread football locker room in Dallas for Prescott; and licensed Texas accents for Ewers in Austin

  • The grant is awarded through DICK’S Sports Matter program, which supports under-resourced teams and athletes

Simone Biles, Chris Paul, Dak Prescott and Quinn Ewers will deck out four DICK’S stores across the state with holiday decor, competing to see who will win the title of DICK’S Holiday Decorating Officer. In addition, the athletes will each receive a $100,000 grant to award to a local youth sports organization of their choice.

“I love competing, so taking part in this Texas holiday contest with some of the best athletes across sports was a lot of fun,” Paul said. “We are all trying to win and become DICK'S Holiday Decorating Officer, but no matter what, we all win as we have the opportunity to give back to youth sports. Thank you to DICK'S for awarding a $100,000 Sports Matter grant to the Chris Paul Family Foundation.”

The grant is awarded through DICK’S Sports Matter program, which supports under-resourced teams and athletes. 

Each store will showcase the athletes’ connection to their city, including gold accents at the Houston location in honor of Biles’ Olympic gold medals; a 12-foot basketball-themed Christmas tree for Paul in San Antonio; a gingerbread football locker room in Dallas for Prescott; and licensed Texas accents for Ewers in Austin.

And it wouldn’t be a Texas ad without a Matthew McConaughey cameo. The actor shows up in one of the commercials to help Ewers brainstorm decorating ideas in a crossover of two Austin greats.

“We’ve had a blast getting ready for the holidays with Texas’ most inspiring and entertaining sports icons,” said Kari DeGori, VP local marketing and marketing capabilities at DICK'S Sporting Goods. “These in-store displays are interactive, fun, a great place for photos, and each has its own tie of sport into the holiday — whether it’s a gingerbread locker room, a chimney basketball game, or a vintage farm basketball hoop. We hope that these displays add some extra joy for our customers while they shop for everyone on their list. And we’re thrilled to be able to partner with our Foundation’s Sports Matter program to extend the holiday cheer to deserving local sports organizations.”
