CLEARWATER BEACH, Fla. — One person was killed Sunday evening in an accident involving two jet skis.

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), the crash between two jet skis happened just after 5 p.m. near Sand Key.

Officials said two personal watercrafts were traveling in the intercoastal waterway near Sand Key when a collision occurred. The operators of the PWC’s were both ejected into the water, one was uninjured.

The FWC, Clearwater PD, U.S. Coast Guard and an ambulance responded to the scene.

The operator of the other PWC was transported to an area hospital, where they later died.

Authorities have not released any details of the crash or any further information.

FWC officials continue to investigate.
