Rusty Bacher lives at the intersection of Forest Hills Drive and Grand Boulevard, where he says there has been an increase in crashes recently.

Bacher said one crash in September sent a car into his home.

“The car came to my rest in my laundry room, put a big gash in the wall there,” he said.

Bacher wasn’t home at the time and wasn't injured, but said it was not the first time something similar has happened to him and his neighbors.

“Every time I turn onto my street, I’m going to have that nagging doubt," he said. "What am I going to come home to?”

Bacher said he believes speeding is one of the main causes of recent crashes on Grand Boulevard, which is much busier now than when he first moved into his home in 1989.

“I don’t know if it’s the roadway or the intersection or just a matter of people going too fast and not paying enough attention,” Bacher said.

He said he would like Pasco County to consider a traffic-calming measure at the intersection to remind drivers to slow down.

“Possibly they could install a few speed tables or rumble strips across the lane," he said. "That would focus people on their driving and less on other things."

Pasco County officials said they were looking into requests for service at that intersection. In the meantime, they recommend residents use the county's Traffic Request Form to get answers on road issues.
