TAMPA, Fla. — The challenges of playing outdoor games in Tampa will impact the Rays home game scheduling.

The team has announced its start times for games at Steinbrenner Field, and will keep in mind the heat and summertime thunderstorms.


What You Need To Know


The Rays are playing their home games at Steinbrenner Field in Tampa for the 2025 season due to the damage Tropicana Field sustained during Hurricane Milton. The Rays begin the regular season March 28 on the road at Colorado and play their first "home" game in Tampa on Tuesday, April 1 against Pittsburgh. 

To begin the season, the Rays will play most weeknight games at 7:05 p.m., Saturday games at 4:10 p.m. and Sundays at 1:40 p.m.

Starting in June, weeknight games will shift to 7:35 p.m. and weekend start times vary. To view the full season schedule, visit RaysBaseball.com/Schedule

“We know that the 2025 season at Steinbrenner Field will bring new challenges, and we are working hard to create an outstanding game day experience for fans,” said Bill Walsh, Rays Chief Business Officer. “We worked with Major League Baseball to craft a game schedule that considers weather, traffic and other events in the area. We’re excited for a fun and memorable year ahead.”

Gates will open 90 minutes prior to first pitch at Steinbrenner Field. Parking lots will open three hours before first pitch. Parking will be available for purchase at a later date.
