TAMPA, Fla. -- A Leto High School history teacher is Hillsborough County's Teacher of the Year.

Henry Bryson was honored at the Excellence in Education awards Thursday night at the David A. Straz Jr. Center for the Performing Arts.

Bryson, 41, teaches in the advanced international certificate of education, or the "AICE" program.

He's been teaching in the district since 2012.

Two other district employees also received awards.

Antonyia McCray, a student success coach at Freedom High School, was named the Ida S. Baker Diversity Educator of the Year.

And Bonnie Walters, a secretary at Tampa Palms Elementary, won Instructional Support Employee of the Year.
