TAMPA — Downtown Tampa and the surrounding areas will be extremely busy this weekend thanks to a calendar full of events, and officials are advising drivers to be prepared.
More than 100,000 people are expected to visit downtown, with events beginning at 7:30 a.m. each day.
Amalie Arena, Blake High School, Curtis Hixon Park, Davis Island, on the Bayshore sidewalk, 7th Avenue in Ybor, Raymond James Stadium, The Straz, Tampa Convention Center and the Tampa Theatre all have scheduled events.
The 2025 Illuminated Knight Parade on 7th Avenue in Ybor City may prove to be the busiest of them all. Tens of thousands of people are likely to attend.
It begins at 7 p.m. Saturday. The roadway and adjacent side streets will be closed to traffic starting at 2 p.m. and numerous police officers will be on hand directing traffic and providing protections for parade goers.
