HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — A rollover semitruck crash caused delays Thursday morning along southbound I-75 in the Ruskin area.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers responded to the crash just after 3 a.m. on I-75 near the Ruskin rest area off ramp.

Traffic was slowed after Big Bend Road. The rest area exit ramp was closed for several hours.

According to troopers, the 53-year-old truck driver was attempting to enter the rest area when he failed to negotiate the curve. The truck went off the road and overturned, spilling a large amount of its beer cargo. The driver suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The lanes were not closed, but backups still occurred as drivers slowed to watch.
