MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. - Vice President Mike Pence’s planned stop in Sarasta next week has been postponed, the Republican Party of Sarasota announced Saturday.

Pence was initially scheduled to appear at an event on July 2 as part of the “Faith in America” tour.
The group said that a new date for the vice president's visit would be announced later.
Pence was also set to appear in Lake Wales at an event organized by the pro-Trump group America First Policies on Thursday. In a news release, the group said the event would be postponed "out of an abundance of caution."
The announcement of the postponed campaign stops comes as Florida experiences a surge in new coronavirus cases.
