USF snapped a 10-game losing skid and won for the first time in more than a calendar year, topping FCS foe Florida A&M 38-17.

Quarterback Timmy McClain made his first career start, finishing 13-of-23 for 163 passing yards and a TD.  The freshman added 51 rushing yards, including a 27-yard gain on his first rushing attempt.

The Bulls' first drive ended with a McClain fumble, but the Sanford Seminole product righted the ship later in the first quarter.  USF's first score came on an 8-play, 75-yard drive that was capped by a Jaren Mangham TD run.

The next USF drive saw McClain pass for his first career touchdown, when he fired a strike over the middle to Xavier Weaver to give the Bulls a 17-3 lead.

Mangham added two more touchdown runs and Yasias Young scored the Bulls' final touchdown of the night late in the fourth quarter.  Brian Battie led USF in rushing yards with 110 on 10 carries.

The victory improved Jeff Scott's career record to 2-10.  It was USF's first win since September 10, 2020 when the Bulls beat The Citadel in Scott's coaching debut.  USF (1-2) faces BYU on the road next Saturday.
