TAMPA, Fla. — Five-time Pro-Bowl cornerback Richard Sherman is joining the Bucs.

Sherman, 33, announced Wednesday on his podcast that he would be signing with the Bucs.

“I feel comfortable and confident in my abilities to go out there and execute and help (Tampa Bay) win.

“This was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.”

The Bucs (2-1) have been dealing with a rash of injuries to its defensive secondary.

Cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting was placed on injured reserve with an injured elbow after the opening game and Jamel Dean, the team’s third corner suffered a knee injury in Sunday’s loss to the Rams.

Sherman played seven season with the Seattle Seahawks, helping lead them to a Super Bowl title after the 2013 season, before spending the last three season with San Francisco.

He has 36 inceptions and three touchdowns in 139 games over 10 NFL season.
