The teen, whose name has not been released, was taken to Tampa General Hospital, stated Clark in a news release.
The driver, whose name has not given out, stayed at the scene, near Gornto Lake Road, Clark confirmed, adding that portions of Providence Lakes Road was shut down.
Clark admitted that it is currently unclear if the skateboard or the driver crossed the line separating the bicycle lane and the traffic lane.
"Investigators do not believe speed, alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash," wrote Clark.
