TAMPA BAY, Fla — The Florida Department of Transportation will close the northbound lanes of the Howard Frankland Bridge overnight Tuesday, March 7.

The closure will be in effect from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. to put up overhead sign structures. The Northbound on-ramps from Pinellas County will be closed from Gandy Boulevard to West Kennedy Boulevard, according to FDOT.

The work is planned to be completed by 5 a.m. Wednesday, March 8.

Drivers going from Pinellas County are advised to take Courtney Campbell Causeway from Clearwater or the Gandy Bridge from St. Petersburg.

Drivers using the Gandy Bridge will be detoured to continue along U.S. Highway 92/Gandy Blvd., then turn north onto Dale Mabry Highway before heading west on Kennedy Blvd. From Kennedy Blvd., follow signs for State Road 60 to Memorial Highway until the exit for the George J. Bean Parkway to the Airport.

Construction is dependent on weather conditions. If the weather is bad Tuesday, the back-up date to start would be March 8.
