The National Weather Service has confirmed that two tornadoes touched down Monday night.  The stronger of the two occurred just southeast of Alvaton in southeast Warren County at 1:15 AM EST and moved into northwest Allen County briefly before lifting.  The tornado was rated an EF-2 with peak winds around 115 mph.  It had a path length of 2.2 miles and was approximately 250 yards wide at its widest point.  The tornado formed within an area of straight-line winds and was on the ground for about 4 minutes.  Several barns were destroyed and there was damage to a home.  The survey team estimated that over 500 trees were uprooted, snapped or leaning over.  

The weaker of the two tornadoes occurred in northern Christian County just south of Crofton at approximately 8:00 PM CST and was on the ground for about 6 minutes.  The tornado was rated an EF-1 with peak winds around 90 mph.  The tornado had a maximum width of 400 yards and a path length of 5.5 miles.  At least 4 farm structures were damaged or destroyed along with a couple of garages.  Several homes lost shingles and siding and one home had six windows shattered or blown out during the event.  Around two dozen trees were uprooted from the tornado.  There were no injuries or fatalities associated with either of the storms.
