March 2024 has come to a close and it was the first month that averaged above normal temperautres so far this year in Tampa.

- Temperatures were 3.1 degrees above normal
- Rainfall was near normal
- The coolest temperature of the month was 51 degrees
- The highest temperature was 84 degrees
Most days this March were above normal with highs in the upper 70s and low 80s and lows mostly in the 60s.
However, there were some cooler days, particularly around the third week of the month.
On the morning of the 20th, Tampa saw its coolest temperature this March at 51 degrees.
Rainfall
After above normal rainfall in January and February, we saw near normal rainfall for March.
Tampa recorded 2.57 inches for the month, which is close to the climatological average of 2.51 inches.
However, places like Sarasota and Lakeland saw below normal rainfall for the month.
This trend of lower rainfall amounts could continue as El Niño weakens.
