January started with near to just below normal temperatures, but a strong cold front cooled us down considerably for the end of the first week of the month.

A second strong cold front came in for the third week of January, which set the stage for all time record snowfall in the northern part of the state.

The morning of the 25th was the coldest across the area.

On that day, Tampa saw a low of 34 degrees and Brooksville dropped to 23.

Tampa saw two consecutive days with highs below 50 degrees.

To put this in perspective, we have never seen more than three straight days below 50 degrees in Tampa's recorded history.

We saw eight days with highs below 60 degrees this month, which was the 10th most on record.
