A ridge of high pressure remains strong over the southeast keeping temperatures well above average this weekend.

What You Need To Know

  • Partly cloudy and very warm on Saturday

  • Showers and storms increase west-to-east late Sunday afternoon

  • Temperatures will be well above average both days

Expect a quiet start to the weekend with a mix of sun and clouds, however, as a cold front approaches, this will push showers and embedded thunderstorms into the region late Sunday and into early next week.

Outdoor plans appear to be safe for much of the weekend, but practice heat safety tips as we are not yet acclimated to what will be a preview to early summer.
