CLEARWATER, Fla. — Three people are hurt after a stolen car crashed into a vehicle early Monday morning, according to police.
- Driver of the stolen car went into hotel to hide, stated police
- He, two other people taken to hospital for medical care
The crash happened here on Court Street near Hillcrest Avenue just before 12:30 a.m.

The Clearwater Police Department stated that Corey A. Feldman stole a friend's Mercedes from the Speedway gas station at Chestnut Street and Fort Harrison Avenue and sped down Court Street going eastbound.

The 28-year-old Clearwater man then slammed into the rear of a BMW in the eastbound lane, according to police in a later news release.
After the crash, Feldman ran from the scene and hid at a hotel, stated authorities. However, police found him and he was taken to the hospital for his injuries.
Two people in the BMW were also injured, with one being flown to the hospital in the Bayflite helicopter. The male driver is in critical condition and the female passenger is being treated for her injuries, police said.
They are both at Bayfront Health at St. Petersburg.
Feldman is being charged with grand theft auto, DUI with serious bodily injury, leaving the scene of a crash with serious bodily injuries, careless driving and driving with a suspended license.
Highland Avenue and Court Street have both reopened.
