1. Suspect in apparent Trump assassination attempt charged with federal gun crimes
Records show that the suspect spent nearly 12 hours near golf course before being confronted.
2. Lutz resident concerned with growing traffic on Willow Bend Parkway
As traffic continues to grow in Lutz, a resident says she is worried some of the roads are not keeping up with congestion, especially with more development on the way.
3. Clearwater Marine Aquarium wants bed tax grant for expansion
The Clearwater Marine Aquarium has a $32 million multi-year expansion plan that will add new habitats for animals, which it hopes to partially fund with a tourist development tax grant.
4. Inverness City Council to vote on change to alcohol ordinance
The Inverness City Council will vote Tuesday on potential changes to the city’s alcohol ordinance. The current ordinance limits selling and consuming alcohol at outdoor events to just beer and wine.
5. Partial lunar eclipse to put on a show for astute observers
It is a partial lunar eclipse, meaning part of Earth’s shadow will cover the moon. The celestial show will start at around 8:41 p.m. ET, Tuesday, stated NASA.
6. State awards Lakeland $75,000 grant to study how to improve the economic development of Memorial Boulevard
Potential improvements may be on the way for a main thoroughfare in Lakeland. This comes as Florida Commerce awarded the city $75,000 to help create an economic vision for the future of Memorial Boulevard.
7. Florida Politics: Citizens to shift up to 648,000 policies to private insurers starting next month
Citizens now has more active policies than it did when lawmakers approved a depopulation program in late 2022.

- GAS PRICES LATEST: Florida gas prices continue their downward march in response to falling oil prices. On Sunday, Florida's average price was $3.11 per gallon. That's the lowest daily average price since Jan. 22 ($2.988). Find the cheapest gas prices in the Bay area.
- TRAFFIC NOTES: There are closures tonight on the Veterans Expressway and State Road 60 by Tampa International Airport. Drivers on eastbound 60 will have to take the Spruce Street exit and follow detours. Drivers leaving the airport will also have to take Spruce Street. The closure is from 11 p.m. tonight to 6 a.m. tomorrow. Meanwhile, watch out for more closures in south Tampa starting tomorrow. Crews will be doing maintenance on Bayshore Boulevard between Platt Street and Rome Avenue. Expect lane closures from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. tomorrow and Wednesday.
- RAYS RETURN HOME: The Tampa Bay Rays completed a 10-game road trip on Sunday and will return to Tropicana Field tomorrow night for matchup against the Boston Red Sox. The Rays went 4-6 on the road trip and are 7.5 games out of a wild card spot. Tomorrow's game, the first of three against the Red Sox, starts at 6:50 p.m.
