Hailing from Florida's 105th District, State Representative Marie Woodson was inspired to run for office by her love of public service, which she developed after tutoring kids in Haiti. The biggest lesson she has learned in office is the importance of collaborating effectively with others, even if she disagrees with them.
Woodson would say her biggest accomplishment so far is passing a bill that provides more opportunities to kids aging out of the foster system. In three words, she would describe her district as "amazing, demanding, and caring."
Woodson's favorite teacher is her first-grade teacher, Ms. Matilda. A comedy fan, she loves to watch the Madea movies.
