It's not the typical hip-hop video. Recording artist Usher has a new song that highlights what he calls social injustice.

The video features the faces and stories of 14 people who lost their lives. One of the faces is that of Tampa teenager Andrew Joseph III.

Andrew was killed last year after deputies kicked him and about 100 other youngsters out of the Florida State Fair. He died while trying to cross I-4.

His parents say having their son's death be part of a song is bittersweet.

"As a mother, to have your 14-year-old son be a part of a music video where there's heartache, blood shed, despair, bondage, is very hurtful and disheartening because that is not the life I aspired for my son," mother Deanna Joseph said.

The daughter of actor Harry Belafonte called Andrew's family about making their son part of the song.

Andrew's dad said he cried when he first heard it and hopes the words on the screen spark a movement.

"The community is tired that we've been treated subhuman for so long that we been chained, and we need to break the chain," Andrew Joseph said.

"I want a national conversation to begin as to why this is happening in America," Deanna Joseph said.

Also featured in the video is Trayvon Martin, the teenager who was shot and killed by George Zimmerman in February 2012.

Now the stories of Trayvon Martin and Andrew will be shared shared with the world. It's something Andrew's parents said he would have wanted.

"I think he's really believing they're listening now," said Andrew Joseph.

The video is the first of two to be released by Usher. The family said a second video will come out early next year. Andrew Joseph III will be featured in that one as well.

Meanwhile Andrew's parents are continuing their own movement. They will share their story with the United Nations on Monday.
