The 17-year-old driver involved in the alleged street racing-related fatal crash that killed a mother and toddler crossing Bayshore Boulevard in Tampa on May 25 will be charged as an adult, according to the State Attorney's Office.

John Barrineau, 17, was taken into custody following the crash and charged with street racing, vehicular homicide and reckless driving resulting in serious bodily injury.

We did not initially identify Barrineau in our reporting because he is a minor, in accordance with our Crime Guidelines.

The crash killed 24-year-old Jessica Raubenolt of Jeromesville, Ohio and her daughter, Lilli, who died a day after her mother.
