PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol has cited a 26-year-old woman who they say hit a toll booth worker and fled the scene. 

  • Toll booth worker injured in hit-and-run
  • Vehicle failed to stop as worker exited booth
  • Suspect vehicle described as a red 2013 Ford F150

The incident happened on Sunday at 1:05 p.m. on I-75 at the Skyway Toll Plaza. 

Troopers said Brittnie Kenyon, 26, was driving a pickup truck through the Skyway Toll Plaza and failed to stop to allow a toll worker to cross the pedestrian crosswalk, despite instructions from other workers. 

According to the report, the truck collided with the pedestrian, Elaine Wyman, 80, and knocked her to the ground.  Troopers said Kenyon initially stopped, then fled the scene traveling southbound on I-275. 

Wyman was transported to St. Anthony's Hospital with minor injuries. 

Kenyon was cited for driving while license suspended and failing to provide information at the crash scene.
