With 8 years experience, Antonio Bradford is a peer counselor and life skills teacher at Spoto High School.
It's his positivity and approach to life that helps his students get back on track when they face challenges.
"You are going to run into a lot of hardships in life and you have to keep a positive attitude," Bradford said. "What these kids face these days, they need to find something to hold on to, to keep themselves positive."
Whether it's watching videos about substance abuse, managing money, setting goals, or just talking, the goal is to change the mind set of "I can't" to "I can and I will."
"Having a positive attitude is the foundation for having a positive life," Junior Demaar Hinton said.
"I was one of those kids before. And I had mentors who were there even when I pushed them away," Bradford said. "Even when I was disrespectful to them, they were still there."
It's that same loyalty those students not only respect but crave.
"He cares about what we are going to do later on in life. He wants us to go on to the next level and become better human beings in society," Sophomore Mackenzie Shirey said.
The lessons taught, the lessons learned, and the difference he is making in his student's lives is why Antonio Bradford was nominated as an A+ Teacher.
