HAINES CITY, Fla. - Investigators worked throughout the night Thursday to try and piece together what happened during a shooting that left one man dead and three others injured.

By daybreak Friday, members of the Polk County Sheriffs Office and Haines City Police Department remained on scene. A number of bullets, as well as blue latex gloves, were littered on the ground as investigators worked.

According to the Haines City Police Department, the shooting happened around 9 p.m. Thursday on N 15th St.

Three cars were struck by a multiple bullets and a nearby home was also struck. Police say a mother and child were inside of the impacted home at the time of the shooting. 

Police have identified the man killed as Oscar Lee Hendrix Jr., 36, of Haines City.

Two other men and one woman were also injured. They were rushed to nearby hospitals. Their conditions have not been released.

Police were still working to identify a suspect and the motive behind the shootings.
