FLORIDA — Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco counties will open cold weather shelters this weekend in anticipation for chilly temperatures, officials announced on Friday.

Shelters in Hillsborough and Pinellas counties will be open on Friday night and Saturday night, and a shelter in Pasco County will be open on Saturday night and Sunday night.
A strong cold front will come through Friday morning and bring much cooler temperatures this weekend. Saturday will be very chilly and breezy with highs in the mid- to upper 50s. Low temperatures fall to the upper 30s and low 40s for Sunday morning around the Tampa Bay area, but expect low to mid-30s in Pasco, Hernando and Citrus counties.

Hillsborough County officials said the county is partnering with the organizations below to provide a limited-capacity cold weather shelter for adults.
All shelters will take in guests from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. unless capacity is reached prior.

According to officials with Hillsborough County, Metropolitan Ministries and Generations Renewed are supplying a limited number of single-night motel vouchers on a first-come, first-served basis for families with minor children. All congregate shelters are reserved for adults only. Pre-registration is required by calling the following numbers. Phone lines turn on at 9 a.m. The deadline to call is 5 p.m.
